Coming to Sankanac means plenty of fun and excitement for everyone in a wholesome outdoor setting. Nestled along French Creek in Chester County, PA, Camp Sankanac covers 150 beautiful acres of land. French Creek affords great boating, canoeing and fishing. Moose Lake and its well stocked waters excite the fisherman’s heart. Sankanac has so much to offer including a Frisbee golf course, many general sports activities, hiking trails, campfires and so much more!
This year the spiritual theme of the weekend is “Becoming a Man of God.” Pastor Bryan Sanders (Pastor of Christian Education at East Brandywine Baptist Church) will be bringing the devotional on Friday evening. We will also have a Father/Son devotional walk on Saturday morning that will focus our hearts on “Becoming a Man of God.”
Saturday morning special guest Harold Dellinger will be sharing with us the history of the shotgun from the Brown Bess to the modern shotgun. Harold has 30 years of professional experience as a living historian and is an expert on Native American and American history. He will show some of his extensive collection of historical shotguns.
Saturday afternoon will provide lots of free time to do many activities of your choice. These activities include fishing (license required if over 16yo), boating/canoeing, trap shooting, 3-D Archery shooting, sports, hiking and much more!
The Call Outdoors will be returning in 2009 to give an exciting Turkey Hunting Seminar. This seminar will give a basic overview of turkey hunting tactics and calling and will show excerpts of their latest turkey hunting DVD. Their program is interactive and exciting even if you’re not a turkey hunter!
